Get a campfire permit?
You can get a campfire permit from any CAL FIRE facility, from the US Forest Service, from the Bureau of Land Management, or by going online to www.PreventWildfireCA.org. There is no fee for the permit, but you must go to one of these facilities to pick up and fill out the permit.
Make a Public Records Act Request?

Requests should be sufficiently specific and focused to enable identification, location, and retrieval of the public records sought. If a request is not specific and focused, Department staff will: (1) assist the requester to identify public records that are responsive to the request or to the purpose of the request, (2) describe the information technology or physical location in which the public records exist, and (3) provide suggestions for overcoming any practical barriers to disclosure of the public records sought. The Department does not supplement responses to previous requests when new records are created or received. A separate request must be submitted each time records are sought.
To ensure accuracy in responding to a request for public records, the Department encourages all requests to be submitted in writing, including by facsimile or by electronic mail. Requests may also be made orally, by telephone or in person.

Please direct requests to:

For camping information contact the California Department of Parks and Recreation, National Park Service, US Forest Service, or the individual campground you are interested in. For information concerning camping on a CAL FIRE Demonstration State Forest, contact the forest directly.

Become a Hired Equipment Vendor with CAL FIRE?

At times when the equipment needed to control an emergency incident exceeds the resources of CAL FIRE, the Department hires the equipment and services of the private sector to supplement its own resources. In so doing, CAL FIRE attempts to obtain those resources that exactly meet the resource needs of the Incident Commander, at a price that is fair to the contractor and which represents a prudent expenditure of state funds.

Find out about CAL FIRE equipment auctions?

CAL FIRE's Mobile Equipment Facility in Davis, California holds fixed-price fire equipment sales once or twice per year. Fire agencies receive first preference in buying obsolete CAL FIRE fire equipment. For details, please contact CAL FIRE's Mobile Equipment office at (530) 757-2407.
