Sacramento - Four employees of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) will be honored for their outstanding contribution to workers' safety at the 20th Annual Governor's Employee Safety Award ceremony on Friday, August 25 in Sacramento. "Safety is absolutely our number one priority during any emergency response," said CDF Director Andrea E. Tuttle. "Safety is also vital in the every day work place. These employees have contributed to the safety and well being of their colleagues as well as the public. I'm very proud that they are receiving this honor." The CDF staffers will be among 49 individuals and 26 groups of state employees receiving the Governor's Employee Safety Award. The CDF employees are being honored for their efforts in promoting and developing physical fitness and safety standards that reduced injuries and lost time.
