Homecoming for CDF Firefighters
120 firefighters back from Montana and Idaho

Sacramento - After two weeks of fighting fire in Montana and Idaho, 120 CDF firefighters will be coming home to a welcome from their Department Chiefs at Sacramento International Airport on Wednesday August 30, at 11:30 a.m. At the same time, another 120 will be leaving to replace them on the fire lines.

The firefighters will be arriving at Gate 1-E behind the administration building between Terminal A and Terminal B at 11:30 a.m. They will be greeted by CDF executive officers, as they step off the airplane. There will be no ceremony, however, some firefighters will be available for media interviews.

All the firefighters will be transported back to their respective units around the State to await their next assignment.

The replacement firefighters will board the same airplane that brought their fellow firefighters home. They will leave at approximately 12:30 p.m. for Missoula, Montana to be assigned on fires in Montana and Idaho.
